Evaluation task

After completing my preliminary task, I have developed key editing skills and effective techniques which have enhanced videos recently created for the music video task. These skills have helped me with my editing and after effects on software called ‘Final Cut’. 

Lotus Flower Music Video

In this task we had to use the video footage from the music video lotus flower and change the song whilst newly editing the video along with the new song chosen.

The editing within the lotus flower mash up is much sharper and there are no jump cuts due to the close editing of the video clip.

The quick sharp editing, in sync with the music allows the video to have a clear and constant effect with also slowing the speed of the clips and adjusting the length and therefore fitting in with the time of the music.

The different clips as i used the cutter had helped re arrange the video clips as this was helpful to use different parts for certain parts of the songs.

Different tools such as reverse and speeding up the clip can enhance the video and make it more visually appealing.

Animal Video

In this task we had to edit certain clips and adjust them to however we thought was best. Changing speed of certain frames and adjusting speed allows the clip to be more visually attractive.

the slowing of the speed can allow that much extra time in adjusting the sound to the music. Keeping it in time with the beat is essential for my animal character mash up and the rhythm of the song.

Lip syncing

Lip sync was when we had a chosen song and we had to create a video that would be our music video towards that chosen song. The chosen software was Final Cut and this allowed me to edit the video footage in time with the song and then correlate it together to make our own music video. Skills that i have developed have enhanced my knowledge over the subject and therefore improved my skills over the years making it easier to complete tasks such as movie creating.
